Your opportunity

As a Transmission HV Electrical Jointer, based at Geebung (Brisbane), you will be responsible for the construction, maintenance, fault response and delivery of services relating to underground HV transmission cables and other primary electrical infrastructure on the Energex network.

Here’s how you’ll do it:

  • The primary focus will be to work on substation, 33kV +, transmission joints.
  • Support the rural transmission network up to 275kV.
  • The joints you will be working on are mostly paper lead, oil / fluid filled cables.

The remuneration for your new role is from $113,869 per annum + 14.75% superannuation + applicable allowances.

What you’ll bring

  • Trade qualification with a Queensland Electrical Jointer (Unrestricted) licence or hold equivalent and be able to obtain a Queensland licence prior to commencement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical transmission and/or distribution systems.
  • Experience working with and operating equipment of 33kv +, including XLPE and fluid cables is highly advantageous.
  • You possess an extensive range of competencies performing construction, maintenance and repair of low voltage, high voltage and EHV and or related or support functions, using either specialist technical skills or multiple trades.
  • You also have a current C class drivers licence, although an MR or HR class licence is advantageous.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australian permanent residency

We’d also love you to have:

  • Ability to work in a team environment, develop and maintain good working relationships is essential.
  • Availability to participate in an on-call/standby roster.
  • Prepared to travel intrastate as required to undertake work.
