  • $ 95,759 to $107,217 per annum (HEO7)

About the role

The Student Experience Team Leader is responsible for managing a range of programs and services designed to achieve more equitable outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students enrolled in UNE undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This position will supervise the student engagement officers and administrative assistants and be responsible for ongoing relationships with the other UNE student service teams and programs.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strong leadership experience, providing coaching that allows for leadership at all levels.
  • Understanding of the challenges that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face when accessing and participating in Higher Education through lived experience and/or work in this space.
  • Experience in managing professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Skills and capabilities in project management, budgeting, program design, coordination and facilitation and communication.

About the Group

The Oorala Aboriginal Centre is a teaching, research and student engagement Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying online and on campus. The Student Experience team provide programs and services that increase Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander success. This includes academic skills, scholarships, transition to studies via orientation and general advice and information.  The team also contributes to the cultural responsiveness of the university, providing a culturally safe space on campus for students and staff.
