Celebrating First Nations Excellence: 46 Trainees and Apprentices Graduate
The Aboriginal Employment Strategy hosted the graduation of 46 First Nations trainees and apprentices who graduated last year—a milestone that marks one of the largest cohorts to date.
“This year’s graduates truly embody the strength and resilience of First Nations culture,” shared Kristy Masella, Managing Director of the Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES). “Each individual has demonstrated remarkable dedication to their goals, and we’re honored to stand alongside them as they step confidently into their futures.”
The AES works in collaboration with over 550 employers nationwide, including cultural and community-focused organisations like Tamworth Aboriginal Medical Service, Dalaigur Preschool and Children’s Services, and financial institutions such as St George Bank, Westpac, NAB, and Coastline Credit Union.
These partnerships are vital to creating meaningful social impact. The AES highlighted that the commitment of these employers not only meets the needs of communities but also provides opportunities for First Nations job seekers.
Operating as a licensed Group Training company, AES has spent more than two decades empowering young people through its traineeship programs, supporting over 2,750 participants along the way.
This year’s graduation ceremony, held on Eora Country in Sydney, was a celebration of success and community. Graduates included 32 full-time trainees and 13 school-based trainees and apprentices from urban, regional, and rural areas across New South Wales and Queensland.
The AES Trainee and Apprentice Graduate Program provides pathways to lasting employment by equipping participants with industry-recognised qualifications, career-ready skills, and hands-on experience. However, the support doesn’t stop there. AES is committed to nurturing long-term career growth through mentoring, coaching, and tailored support to ensure graduates thrive in their roles and achieve their full potential.
