Your opportunity

As a Transmission Linesperson/Live Line Linesperson based at Brisbane, Rockhampton, or Townsville you are responsible for the completion of overhead maintenance and construction tasks using Transmission Lines skills.

Here’s how you’ll do it:

  • Tasks include a high level of manual activity, data capture and fault diagnosis, while working at heights to ensure the integrity of electricity supply in Queensland.
  • Your duties will be performed in line with your skills, experience and accreditation including live-line and barehand work.
  • You will be responsible for the care and safe use of assigned vehicles/plant, tools/equipment, and hazardous substances to ensure successful completion of allocated tasks.

The remuneration for your new role starts from $118,892 per annum + allowances + 14.75% superannuation.

What you’ll bring

You will have well-developed interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships with team members and external customers.

  • Qld Electrical licence as a Linesperson or Live Line Linesperson.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain relevant QLD High Risk Work Licence, and Rigger’s licence.
  • Current ‘C’ class open Drivers Licence is essential.
  • Ability to travel extensively to undertake work.
  • Availability for call out and emergency work.
  • The position will be required to work in exposed conditions, confined spaces and at heights.

We’d also love you to have:

  • Authorisation of a Live Line Linesperson to the appropriate level.
  • Experience as Transmission linesperson on transmission systems and an ability to work within a live line team (Distribution experience will be considered).
  • Knowledge and ability to coordinate overhead/underground construction, operation and maintenance, and associated activities with demonstrated relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety.
  • Knowledge of construction task management with demonstrated communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to gain/hold certification as bare hand live linesperson.
