Technical Administrator (EAP)
About the opportunity
The Enterprise Aviation Processing (EAP) system is CASA’s Regulatory Application Processing platform. As part of the EAP Operations team, you will be responsible for maximising the benefits to CASA from the EAP application, and for managing the implementation of EAP updates issued by the vendor (EMPIC).
The Technical Administrator will be responsible for providing operational support for the EAP application, including application configuration, performing change requests, updates of manuals and training materials, providing assistance and advice to EAP users, and the creation and maintenance of licences and permissions. This role is predominantly focussed on administration and support of the EAP application, rather than traditional back-end (operating system) administration tasks.
The Technical Administrator is responsible for the following deliverables:
- Responding to service request from business areas, developing and delivering content, including administrative tasks, BAU activities and new developments requests.
- Working with operational areas to ensure that EAP is appropriately updated to reflect regulatory changes.
- Working closely with other areas of the Branch to ensure consistent approach is used across teams in delivery outcomes for business areas.
- Coordinating the revision of CASA manuals, training materials and workflows to retain currency with regulatory changes and as each new release of EAP is implemented.
- Providing operational support for CASA’s Online Services web portal including the management and design of workflows.
- Providing operational advice and support to users of the EAP application and to CASA’s EAP User Group representatives.
- Working with the vendor to resolve EAP incidents and improve EAP functionality.
- Developing, testing, and updating of templates for aviation licences, certificates, approvals and permissions
- Supporting the testing and release of EAP updates.
- Promoting workplace safety, equity and diversity, participative management and environmental management in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA’s Values and Behaviours.
This position may require some out of hours work, including meetings with EMPIC and system upgrades.
Our ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in the use of CASA’s Enterprise Aviation Processing System (EMPIC EAP), particularly in the areas of regulatory service business processing and/or client services licensing processing.
- Ability to work cooperatively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to provide timely, accurate and high-quality service to clients.
- Ability to manage tasks and small projects and undertake research and analysis within tight timeframes.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage tasks and projects with tight timeframes.
- An understanding of CASA’s regulatory services, surveillance processes and/or sound understanding of the Australian aviation environment
The following skills and capabilities would also be beneficial:
- Experience using enterprise ICT business applications as a system administrator
- High-level skills using Microsoft Office suite and ability to quickly adapt to new software applications.
- Experience in using HPE RM8 or similar electronic records management systems.

Eligibility Requirements
Employment with CASA is subject to conditions prescribed within the Civil Aviation Act 1988. The following eligibility requirements apply to this position:
- At minimum, prospective CASA employees must undergo pre-employment screening. You must be willing to provide required information to successfully undergo a police record check.
- Must be an Australian citizen and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
