Team Leader – Parliamentary Attendants (Chamber and Tours)

About the Role

Are you passionate about history, education, and leadership? We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our team as the Team Leader – Parliamentary Attendants (Chamber and Tours). In this unique role, you will supervise and coordinate a dedicated team of Parliamentary Attendants, ensuring the delivery of exceptional chamber and tour support services to Members, staff, and visitors.

 

What you’ll do in your new role:

  • Coordinate and manage school, public, and special interest tours, collaborating with Members, electorate office staff, and various Parliamentary Service areas.
  • Mentor and train new employees, both permanent and casual, for tours and chamber duties. Additionally, oversee general supervisory responsibilities as a team leader, including creating rosters, approving timesheets, and managing overall team performance.
  • Create and present interactive and engaging tours, enhancing the visitor experience.
  • Plan and execute special events and tours, ensuring smooth operations through effective stakeholder coordination.
  • Step in as needed as a Parliamentary Attendant in the Legislative Assembly Chamber.
  • Support the Education and Liaison team with administrative tasks, including preparing training materials, managing bookings, and recording statistics.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of clients.
  • Strong planning and organisational abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to conduct tours and work within a legislative or similar environment.
  • Proven ability to coordinate, prioritise, and supervise staff effectively.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite for administrative tasks.
  • Keen attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure while working independently.
