Support Worker

Who We Are:

Hope Ability provides assistance to people living with disability to achieve their goals and independence in their daily life. We provide required support in different settings, e.g. SIL, Respite, employment, and secured care.

We are looking for support workers with experience working with challenging behavior and higher support needs participants living with ABI, Intellectual Disability, ASD, and Drug & Alcohol.

Preference is given to support workers with knowledge of mental health.

What You Will Do:

  • Deliver quality support to our participants in an accommodation setting
  • Promote participants’ choice and control in their daily activities
  • Follow behavior support plans to support participants living more independently
  • Drive participants for community events, appointments, shopping, etc.
  • Assist our participants in achieving their goals
  • Have cultural competencies to deliver appropriate support

A Successful Support Worker with Hope Ability Will:

  • Be available to work on a 24/7 rotating roster
  • Possess a Current NT driving license
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of the person-centered support approach or willingness to embrace this model of support
  • Be comfortable supporting participants with intellectual and physical disabilities, higher medical needs, and involvement with the justice system
  • Thrive in a team-based environment where we work together to support the well-being of our participants
