The opportunity
ASIO is looking to fill positions within the Strategic Industry Partnerships (SIP) Team at the Assistant Director AEE1 and Director AEE2 levels. ASIO’s SIP team works with strategic industry entities to deliver capability and capacity that supports ASIO’s technology needs. The team has a key role in supporting the relationships between ASIO and key Strategic Industry Partners to support the procurement of technological solutions to achieve ASIO’s objectives. SIP Managers employ a range of skills, including strategic thinking, negotiation, decision making, risk management, stakeholder engagement, regulatory awareness and conflict resolution to ensure good relationship management in accord with partnership principles.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities
As a SIP Manager in ASIO, you will:
- Represent ASIO and provide high-level advice on Industry engagement at various internal and government forums.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for industry partnerships aligned with ASIO’s overall goals and objectives.
- Maintain and enhance existing industry partnerships and internal teams.
- Identify and develop new strategic partnerships, internal/external stakeholder networks and business opportunities.
- Preparing a range of written material including reports, contracts, problem statements and other documentation.
- Identify and mitigate risks and ensure compliance with ASIO’s policies and frameworks.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, support and development opportunities.
- Lead by example by promoting and implementing ASIO’s Values and business partnering culture.
- Undertake other duties as directed.
What you will bring

Location
These positions are located Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Applicants must be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is provided to successful candidates where ASIO requires you to relocate.

Employment conditions
Employment is under the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979. Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service. We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes. Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
