Regulatory Oversight
The Senior Quality Officer plays a critical role within the Regulatory Oversight Division (ROD) in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in the delivery of regulatory services across the Division. Reporting to the Manager, ROD, Quality Compliance and Service Delivery, this role provides strategic oversight of ROD’s quality plan, standards and practices. The Senior Quality Officer ensures alignment of ROD quality practices with CASA’s quality framework and regularly reports on quality assurance activities.
The Senior Quality Officer will work collaboratively with National Managers and cross-divisional teams to implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor performance, and maintain operational standards. The role also leads key quality initiatives, working with stakeholders to foster continuous improvements in compliance, consistency, efficiency and standards.
This position is key to developing, monitoring and reporting on quality and compliance metrics, driving assurance and process improvement initiatives, and supporting digital transformation of services within ROD.
Stakeholder Engagement
The Senior Quality Officer plays a critical role within the Client Services Centre (CSC) in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance in the delivery of client services across the Division. Reporting to the Manager, Client Services, Performance and Quality, this role provides strategic oversight of CSC’s quality plan, standards and practices. The Senior Quality Officer ensures alignment of CSC quality practices with CASA’s quality framework and regularly reports on quality assurance activities.
The Senior Quality Officer oversees the quality team within the CSPQ section, leading the implementation of key quality initiatives and collaborating with stakeholders across the CSC to drive improvements in quality practices, compliance, service consistency, accuracy, and efficiency. This role works closely with National Managers and cross-divisional teams to implement quality improvement initiatives, monitor performance, and maintain operational standards. Additionally, the Senior Quality Officer plays a vital role in advancing the Shared Ways of Working (SWOW) initiative, ensuring these activities align with the CSC’s service and performance objectives.
This position is key to developing, monitoring and reporting on quality and compliance metrics, driving assurance and process improvement initiatives, and supporting digital transformation of services within CSC.
The Senior Quality Officer is responsible for the following deliverables, which represent an ongoing body of work:
- Build capability and capacity in a team environment through coaching others, providing performance feedback, minimising and resolving conflict and encouraging career development
- Review and update the quality business plan regularly to ensure relevance and effectiveness.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of service delivery processes, in accordance with the assurance plan, to evaluate compliance with established standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of quality assurance activities, audits, and compliance assessments.
- Collaborate with other Divisions and Branches to ensure alignment with quality objectives and facilitate effective communication regarding quality matters.
- Maintain currency with best practices and regulatory changes impacting quality assurance and compliance.
- Support initiatives to enhance quality management systems and processes, promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the agency. Work with a high level of independence under direction of the Branch manager, make decisions based on professional judgement to manage difficult issues.
- Develop, implement, and regularly update the Division’s quality business plan within CASA’s quality framework, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and capability.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to establish quality objectives, goals, and KPIs, and monitor performance to ensure continuous improvement.
- Design, implement, and maintain the quality assurance plan, conducting audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory standards.
- Identify areas for improvement from audits and assessments, facilitating the development of corrective action plans to address non-compliance.
- Compile and present reports on quality assurance activities, compliance findings, trends, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement by promoting awareness of quality standards and best practices across the organisation.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and quality management systems to enhance organisational quality initiatives.

Our ideal candidate

- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality assurance or compliance within a regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of quality management principles, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools. Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality and compliance.
- Effective leadership, organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing regulatory requirements and organisational priorities
- Ability to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees in a sensitive, respectful and equitable manner.)
