Position Title: Senior Project Officer

Location: Cairns

Remuneration: $101,174 – $109,783 p.a.

This is an exciting opportunity within the Office of the Great Barrier and World Heritage (OGBR&WH) Branch to make a significant contribution towards future recognition and protections for parts of Cape York Peninsula. You will support the World Heritage team whilst reframing relationships between First Nations people and the Department to support co-stewarding the cultural and natural values of Queensland. The Queensland First Nations World Heritage Strategy provides the basis for our work, centring Country, and people at the heart of World Heritage business.

This role is a Senior Project Officer that will support the progression of work to support increased protections of areas across Cape York Peninsula. The role sits within the World Heritage team, OGBR&WH Branch which is responsible for ensuring State (and Commonwealth) World Heritage planning, reporting and administrative obligations are being met. The World Heritage team is committed to building meaningful and impactful relationships with First Nations peoples across World Heritage areas and Tentative Listed sites and support their ongoing connection to Country through self-determination.
