Senior Policy Advisor, Policy and Design, AO6

Your opportunity

The Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) is implementing Queensland’s Child Safe Organisations (CSO) system including a mandatory child safe standards scheme and a reportable conduct scheme as outlined in the new Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (the Act). In this role you will work with regulators and peak bodies to ensure the necessary capacity building strategies are in place for each phase of the rollout of the scheme. You will draw on strong engagement skills and show agility and innovation to support regulators and peak bodies to implement the legislative framework.

About your responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Analyse and apply legislation in the implementation of the child safeguarding framework in Queensland to contribute to policy guidance for Queensland organisations on implementation of the child safe and reportable conduct schemes.
  • Prepare a range of high-quality written outputs, including reports, presentations, briefings and content to support operational and strategic decision makers, ensuring an accurate and timely response.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve policy outcomes and deliver on the implementation of the Act.
  • Contribute to internal policy design for key elements of the QFCC’s functions to operate the reportable conduct and child safe standards schemes, that navigate a range of perspectives in an environment of competing priorities.
  • Support the development of a monitoring and evaluation framework and contribute to monitoring the implementation and outcomes of the scheme.
  • Represent the QFCC at interdepartmental and interagency meetings as required to support policy discussions and outcomes.
  • Apply strong project governance, including robust planning, scheduling, risk management, delivery and reporting of milestones to internal and external stakeholders.

Remuneration

AO6
– $115,758 – $123,611 (yearly)
– $4,437 – $4,738 (fortnightly)

– $132,268 up to $141,241 (total remuneration)
