Your duties and responsibilities as a Senior Parliamentary Security Officer will see you:

• Perform security duties within the Parliamentary Precinct, including control room activities, patrols, and customer service.
• Coordinate car parking allocations and maintain the database.
• Issue security access cards and maintain relevant databases.
• Act as “Incident Controller” during major incidents in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Assist State and Civil Authorities with Parliamentary security.
• Coordinate emergency evacuations and liaise with key stakeholders.
• Manage fire panel isolations for works within the buildings.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing of equipment.
• Train Parliamentary Security Officers and other staff.
• Assist with shift coordination, including task allocation and roster preparation.
• Develop capability to relieve the Parliamentary Security Supervisor.

Key Strengths for Success

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a security setting.
• Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organisational and time management skills

This role requires the successful applicant to work shift work in accordance with a 12 hour shift roster that operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.
