About headspace

headspace are a busy and innovative youth mental health service providing a variety of mental health, medical, sexual and other health related services as well as vocational, functional groups and social services to young people aged 12 to 25 years and their families.

About the Position

The Senior Clinician will support the Program Manager Early Psychosis in providing leadership support and clinical guidance to Early Psychosis team members, to deliver a strengths and evidence based, youth focused, clinical mental health service to young people and families. As part of this role, you will provide engagement, assessment, clinical case management & treatment for people experiencing symptoms of psychosis & co-occurring mental health difficulties.

You will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment and support to young people and families in line with the Australian Early Psychosis Program (AEPP) model of care. You will be skilled in the provision of clinical evidence-based interventions, assertive outreach and complex risk assessments and subsequent safety planning with young people and their families.

The minimum qualification required is an approved tertiary qualification in a relevant allied health discipline and current membership with AHPRA, or membership of and adherence to the AASW standards for social workers.

Please note: It is a requirement that prior to commencing in this role, you must possess a Working with Children (Ochre Card), a National Criminal History Check (within 3 months) and a current NT manual driver’s licence

Experience of working closely with and having a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture would be considered an advantage.
