Senior Aboriginal Community Education Officer (50D)

Full time

$96,307- $105,254 per year + 11.5% Superannuation

Fixed term opportunity for up to 12 months with the possibility for extension and/or permanency

The role
Consumer Protection Western Australia is dedicated to promoting safe and fair trading, and safeguarding  consumers’ rights across the state. As the Senior Community Education Officer, you will be an integral part of an outgoing, passionate team that proactively engages with the community to enhance awareness on consumer rights.

You will have the unique opportunity to apply your cultural insight and knowledge to the research, development and implementation of various print, digital and in-person resources, campaigns and educational programs to  empower Aboriginal individuals across multiple areas.

This role is both intriguing and fulfilling, with each day offering something new and unique.

Responsibilities include:

  • Researching and designing educational programs and publications for Aboriginal consumers.
  • Delivering educational sessions for the Aboriginal community in both metropolitan and regional areas.
  • Identifying and utilising key Aboriginal communication channels and building stakeholder databases.
  • Providing advice on matters concerning Aboriginal consumer protection and community engagement.
  • Engaging with the media and consumer networks on Consumer Protection issues.
