Position Overview

  • Full Time Ongoing ($70,011k + 15.4% super) Multiple positions, Sutherland Shire Sydney

About the Opportunity

ANSTO, supported by the Sir William Tyree Foundation, is offering this unique and exciting development opportunity for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to work and learn on the job in a culturally sensitive environment.

Throughout the program you will:

  • Develop a range of different skills and practical work experience
  • Gain foundational experience which can be applied to assessing, monitoring, and managing safety situations on site in collaboration with other team members
  • Effectively time manage training requirements with day-to-day work duties
  • Work alongside safety technicians for support and the opportunity to gain skills

Features of the program include:

  • Continuous training and ongoing support
  • Mentoring to help with training, professional and personal development throughout the program
  • Rotations through a wide variety of safety functions at ANSTO including Radiation Safety, Work Health and Safety (WHS), Occupational Hygiene and Personal Dosimetry Services plus opportunities in the commercial application of Radiation Protection and application of regulatory requirements, Emergency Response and Safety Engineering
  • Training while working, giving you multiple certifications and accreditations including:
    • Certificate IV Work Health & Safety
    • Accreditation as a Health Physics Surveyor
    • Basic Principles in Occupational Hygiene course
  • Development opportunities to provide strong foundations for an exciting and fulfilling career
