Principal Advisor, Education and Capacity Building, AO7

Your opportunity

The Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) is implementing Queensland’s Child Safe Organisations (CSO) system including a mandatory child safe standards scheme and a reportable conduct scheme as outlined in the new Child Safe Organisations Act 2024 (the Act).

In this role you will work with regulators and peak bodies to ensure the necessary capacity building strategies are in place for each phase of the rollout of the scheme. You will draw on strong engagement skills and show agility and innovation to support regulators and peak bodies to implement the legislative framework.

About your responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Develop an education and capacity building strategy that builds a self-assessment component so organisations subject to the scheme can begin the work of understanding their progress towards compliance.
  • Develop a library of child safe education and capacity building materials for a diverse range of sectors who have various levels of maturity, in collaboration with sector peaks, representative bodies and regulators.
  • Evaluate the operation and effectiveness of the education and capacity building program by analysing and reporting on participant feedback and other performance metrics to enhance the quality of materials and programs of work.
  • Develop a training strategy focused on sector leadership and collaboration to outline standards required for third parties to develop online and face-to-face training modules for staff working in child safe and reporting entities, tailored to the needs of the different sectors that come under the scheme.
  • Contribute to service delivery and improvements based on evolving best practice, utilise current research, evidence-based practice and available technology to inform the development of education and capacity building materials.
  • Develop criteria to determine how best to support small organisations to adopt the Child Safe Standards and Universal Principle and conduct outreach to assist their compliance with the child safe organisations scheme.
  • Apply strong project governance, including robust planning, scheduling, risk management, delivery and reporting of milestones to internal and external stakeholders.

Remuneration

AO7
– $129,090 – $138,273 (yearly)
– $4,948 – $5,300 (fortnightly)

– $147,501 up to $157,995 (total remuneration)
