People & Culture Adviser

The Federation of Community Legal Centres Victoria (the Federation) is a fast-paced and dynamic organisation that leads and supports excellence in the community legal sector, promotes the purpose and value of Community Legal Centres, and advances social justice and a fair legal system. It is the peak body for Victoria’s 49 Community Legal Centres (CLCs), who are at the forefront of helping those facing economic, cultural or social disadvantage and whose life circumstances are severely affected by legal challenges.   • 12-month contract, with possibility to extend.

As People and Culture Adviser, you will work collaboratively as part of the Senior Management Team and with managers and staff, to inspire a positive and engaged promote a culture of inclusion, participation and accountability, and foster collaboration, respect, and wellbeing at every touch point.

Reporting to the Director of Member Excellence, People and Operations, you will contribute to the delivery of strategic people goals and deliver and strengthen the operational people functions across the organisation. The People and Culture Adviser will provide expert and confidential advice, coaching and support to Federation managers and staff to ensure a positive and engaged workforce and consistent, best practice approaches across the people function.

You will work across all elements of the people and culture function, including delivering organisational culture initiatives and people management activities, drafting, implementing, and reviewing policies to meet the Federation’s compliance and governance obligations, and implementing effective workforce planning and recruitment processes.

About YOU
• Proven experience in delivering people and culture advice, support, and operations, including advising and supporting the resolution of people challenges, the application of awards and agreements, the development and implementation of policies and processes, and technical capability across the employee lifecycle.
• Sound experience in the delivery of organisational culture and development initiatives and the ability to take a leading role in maintaining a positive, strong workplace culture.
• Highly developed interpersonal skills, including a calm, people centric and ethical approach and the ability to liaise with a diverse range of people effectively and professionally.
• Strong written communication including ability to synthesise information and draft documentation to a high standard.
• An ability to think strategically while considering practical solutions and perspectives.
• Motivated by collaboration and collective success, dedicated to championing diversity and inclusion, and focused on building a sustainable, capable, and trusted peak body.
• Qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Human Resources, Business, or Psychology are ideal; or equivalent relevant experience.
