About the team
The Marketing Lead sits in the Marketing & Communications Unit within the Marketing & Fundraising division. The Marketing & Communications Unit is responsible for promoting, positioning and protecting Cancer Council’s brand and reputation across NSW, and supports the whole organisation.
About the role
The Marketing Lead is responsible for leading the Marketing team and developing a proactive, high-performing team culture with a focus on brand building, marketing strategy, innovation and data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities include: developing an organisational brand marketing strategy to help Cancer Council NSW achieve its organisational objectives, implementing brand media, leading on brand partnerships to increase our brand personality, managing our external media agencies, and representing NSW within the Cancer Council Federation.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Develop and deliver an organisational brand marketing strategy to help Cancer Council NSW achieve its organisational objectives, with specific measurable KPIs
- Work with the organisation to develop a strategic annual media plan and identify opportunities to improve our approach to media across performance and awareness campaigns
- Work with the CCNSW Cancer Prevention and Advocacy Division to facilitate the delivery of public health campaigns to help achieve our core mission objectives and reduce the impact of cancer
- Represent NSW within the Cancer Council Federation \and translate national brand strategy into state brand communication plans to build an engaged and connected audience
- Work in partnership with the PR & Communications, Stories Content and Digital teams to deliver integrated campaigns and identify opportunity for optimisation and increased collaboration
- Champion the application of CCNSW’s brand and oversee internal brand training
- Manage the organisational relationship with CCNSW media partners to set and manage annual KPIs and optimise agency performance
- Lead on developing clear, consistent and effective marketing collateral and content for use across a range of traditional and online channels
- Oversee organisational brand health tracking
- Lead on key organisational marketing projects and provide strategic brand advice and support to the organisation Manage the Marketing team, developing a proactive, high-performing team culture with a focus on innovation, continual improvement, and data-driven decision-making
About you
Essential:
- At least 7 years’ experience in an in-house or agency marketing role
- Proven ability to develop marketing strategies that have delivered on business objectives
- Proven ability to manage paid media campaigns and media agencies to optimise results
- Experience of working on integrated marketing and communications campaigns
- Ability to influence key stakeholders to deliver excellent results
- Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills
- Ability to balance organisational desire to push boundaries and try new things with shrewd reputation management
- Self-sufficient with ability to spot opportunities and take initiative
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Good organisational, project management and time management skills
Desirable:
- Experience in planning and delivering public health awareness campaigns
- Experience line-managing staff and developing team culture
- Experience of delivering great outcomes on limited budgets
