Mappa is a free-to-use online mapping tool that works to help people and communities to better-access health services as close as possible to family, home and country. Mappa is being built through very strong consultation with the health sector, and the wider community and is for all people to use.
The Mappa Platform Manager directly reports to the Deputy Chief Executive Officer and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer, providing operational management for the Mappa Platform. This includes ensuring that the Platform objectives are delivered within the agreed time, scope and budget constraints.

About You
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A tertiary qualification in business management, project management or commerce and/or extensive industry experience in managing projects.
- The ability to plan, prioritise and organise project tasks, in order to meet deadlines, budgets and maintain desired work outcomes, including the proven ability to work effectively within an outcome-focussed, team-oriented environment.
- The ability to collect, collate, analyse and document business requirements with diverse stakeholder groups.
- The ability to motivate and coordinate a distributed IT project team, to successfully deliver project outcomes for diverse user groups and to establish productive partnerships with a broad set of stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to effectively communicate with senior management, project steering committees, IT professionals and external agencies together with extensive experience in the preparation of clear and concise documentation for varied audiences.
- Experience with leading focus groups, user experience and beta testing programs.
- The ability to work effectively with minimal direction and supervision as well as to independently act on behalf of an organisation and diverse stakeholder group in a broad range of situations and environments.
- Well-developed planning and organisational skills including scope and schedule management.
- High-level of IT literacy, proficient user of Microsoft Office tools and MS Project.
- Strong stakeholder management experience coupled with the ability to demonstrate strong communication, facilitation, negotiating and influencing skills.
- Problem solving skills with the ability to analyse, identify options and select appropriate solutions.
Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who:
- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community;
- Has experience or qualifications in PRINCE2, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), PMBOK or similar project management methodology; and
- Has knowledge of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and the issues facing these organisations in their service delivery.
The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) prior to appointment.
