Learning and Development – Cultural Development and Training Lead

About the role:

This national position is situated within the Learning and Development team which is responsible for contributing to the strategic delivery of an integrated national learning and development culture at Mackillop Family Services.

The Learning and Development Cultural Development and Training Lead will be a member of the Human Resources Unit and reports to the Learning and Development Manager. The Learning and Development team actively promote and support a Cultural Awareness competency where employees are supported to prioritise their ongoing learning and development. 

The Learning & Development Cultural Development and Training Lead will be experienced in training delivery and will deliver various training programs across MacKillop Family Services, with a primary focus on the delivery of Cultural Awareness and cultural competencies. They will support and contribute to the production, allocation and delivery of consistent end-to-end learning outcomes. The role is to facilitate, develop, have cultural oversight and deliver training sessions, workshops and professional refreshers for the L&D suite of programs in both online and face-to-face formats.

This is a Permanent Full-time opportunity based in South Melbourne, VIC within our Learning and Development team. The position reports to the Learning and Development Manager.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent knowledge, skills, and experience, including skills in the co-design, development and delivery of cultural education resources to a large organisation.
  • Appropriate teaching or adult training qualifications or experience (or equivalent) and a firm grasp and knowledge of adult learning principles. Higher education to degree level combined with extensive relevant experience. Open-minded and motivated approach in using a Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • A knowledge and understanding (lived experience) of Aboriginal culture and values and an awareness of the current issues faced by Aboriginal employees, children, young people and their families.
  • Aboriginality and have a deep, strong connection to community and country.
