Triple P are seeking an Indigenous Trainer Support Coach to work with our Training team and Cultural Consultant to engage and support our Indigenous partner organisations during training events.

 

Triple P International is responsible for the dissemination of the Triple P-Positive Parenting Program® (Triple P), an evidence-based multi-level family intervention program. This award-winning program promotes the independence and health of families by enhancing parents’ knowledge, skills and confidence and is based on decades of research and clinical trials.

 

As a contractor the role will provide the opportunity to work flexibly, with training support being delivered in person and online across Australia. Some travel, sometimes including to remote communities, which may include outside of hours or weekend travel, with advance notice and support provided.

 

The Role

Will work with Triple P Trainers to provide training support with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and participants during training. Duties will include:

  • Working with Triple P Trainers and participants to provide cultural support during training, pre-accreditation and accreditation.
  • Provide support to participants to facilitate the best training outcomes
  • Effectively communicate and build relationships with participants
  • Support the delivery of one day workshops to help prepare participants for their accreditation
  • Working with our Indigenous Implementation Consultants and Cultural Consultant

The Person

To be considered for this role the following criteria is required or desired:

Required

  • To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Desired

  • Comprehensive understanding of the history, and the effects that impact contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and how it relates to parenting today.
  • Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations and communities.
  • Availability for a minimum of 4 consecutive days a month (additional days for in person training and travel)
  • A degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience in group facilitation and/or teaching as it relates to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of learning.
