Hostel Night Attendants

• Consistent take home pay including nightly allowances from 30% on top of your hourly rate
• 7 day on 7 day off roster
• Work fulltime (75 hours a fortnight), part time (30-60 hours a fortnight) or on a casual basis (on call only)
• Qualify for leave (fulltime and part time only)

Aboriginal Hostels Limited’s (AHL) vision is to improve the quality of life and opportunities for First Nations People through their national network of hostels.

AHL hostels are like a home away from home for people needing to travel for access to services or for work and education opportunities. They provide comfortable, culturally safe and affordable accommodation, three meals a day and a welcoming environment for those who stay.

The Roles

The role of a Night Attendant at an AHL hostel is to:

• Provide property security and ensure the safety of our residents
• Attend to housekeeping duties including common room and grounds upkeep
• Monitor and authorise entrances and departures of residents, staff and visitors

Respond to emergencies if required

AHL has multiple hostels in Katherine with roles available including:

• Multipurpose hostels
• Secondary Education hotels

The Ideal People

You will need to have a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and issues affecting First Nations peoples.

Ideally you have experience in the security industry, but what’s really important, is that you can work as part of a team.

 

You will have the ability to work at night and be able to manage emergency situations.

Your Pay

• $56,774 – $61,883 + 15.4% Super (pro-rated for part-time positions)
• Generous shift penalties for work after hours, weekends and public holidays
• Salary packaging options available which can reduce your taxable income and increase your take-home pay
• Additional allowance per year of $3,464 without dependants or up to $6,290 with dependants
