Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Heritage

Your Opportunity

Following a recent strategy and operating model review our focus is on building the structure, skills and capabilities required for the next chapter of the IGO story.  We are now seeking a Head of Health, Safety, Environment and Heritage who will report to the Chief People Officer and lead 6 direct reports to shape all aspects of our Health, Safety, Environment, Land Access and Heritage portfolio. This role is based in our corporate office in South Perth with site visits and travel as required.

Key accountabilities in this role include:

• Leadership of the Health, Safety, Land Access and Heritage professionals across the business to develop strategies and manage risks across IGO operations to deliver the IGO strategic plan;
• Build capabilities with IGO operational and functional leaders enabling them to create the desired culture and implement strategies to support successful operational outcomes; and
• Oversee development of IGO’s Management Systems in the relevant areas of the business to build capacity and capability.

About You

• A Purpose driven leader with a focus on creating a culture where people thrive
• Strategic thinker with significant senior level experience leading Safety & Health, preferably in the resources sector;
• Influential leader who has a deep connection to safety – safety or our people, safety of the environment and care for heritage and land access matters;
• Strong communicator with the skills with the ability to negotiate and influence decisions and outcomes;
• Experience with engaging with rural communities and an understanding of the associated challenges.
