Governance Coordinator

About the opportunity

The Governance Coordinator works in the Continuous Improvement and Strategic Support (CISS) Branch of the Regulatory Oversight Division (ROD). A major focus of the position is to coordinate corporate reporting obligations and input to support ROD’s governance committee requirements.

This position reports to the Manager of Business Planning and works with a significant degree of independence and initiative. The Governance Coordinator works closely with senior managers within ROD and across CASA, managing relationships, anticipating and responding to stakeholders needs to achieve divisional goals.

The Governance Coordinator’s role is responsible for the following deliverables:

  • Coordinate and manage divisional corporate performance reporting requirements including annual report, corporate report, input into the various Executive and Board Governance Committees and manage action items.
  • Maintain the divisional oversight calendar and tasks to ensure the division meets all governance reporting requirements and timeframes.
  • Provide secretariat and administrative duties to support, coordinate and facilitate the monthly Regulatory Oversight Management Meetings.
  • Coordinate and support the Flying Currency and Training program across CASA including planning, reporting, financial and procurement management of flying training undertaken by CASA staff.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance of CISS processes and manage the update of ROD’s intranet page.
  • Promote workplace safety, equity and diversity and participative management and environmental management practices in the workplace and act in accordance with CASA values and behaviours.

Our ideal candidate

Our ideal candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communications skills to effectively liaise, engage and work collaboratively with internal and external
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing draft reports, briefing papers, correspondence and discussion papers for review by Executive level employees.
  • Experience leading, coordinating, and delivering governance papers, including tracking and monitoring activities, to meet timeframes.
  • High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement procedures, improve processes, provide flexible solutions and achieve results.
  • Demonstrated experience in liaising and negotiating with senior levels of management.
  • Knowledge of or ability to acquire an understanding of CASA’s strategic direction, its vision, and goals.
