Location: TAFE NSW Ultimo, George Street, Ultimo

Duration: 8 weeks

Study type: Full-time

Start date: 14^th October 2024

Study commitment: 10 hours per week

Course description:

Students will learn a broad range of practical skills and technical knowledge across a variety of vessels, enabling students to work as a deckhand on a small vessels. The maritime industry offers exciting career options and allows you to travel the world.

This course also provides:

What you will get from this course: is practical hands-on experience on real ships, participate in sea survival skills; visit the Australian Maritime Museum you will have access to experienced people working in industry and much more.

You will participate in a 2 day works shop that will help you develop your skills for the rapidly changing world of work.

• Entry point to gain employment working on boats and charter vessels.
• Practical experience on a vessel.
• Sea survival skills.
• Learn to tie knots.
