Applications are sought for the position of Chairperson of the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) for a term of up to three years.

FRDC is a research and development corporation jointly funded by the Australian Government and the Australian fishing and aquaculture industry. It operates within the portfolio of the Australian Government Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry.

FRDC takes a leading role in planning and investment in fisheries research and development to support the ongoing sustainability of our aquatic sectors and aquatic ecosystems.

Applicants must have the following expertise and experience:

• leadership experience
• experience in setting strategic business direction
• highly developed business acumen
• highly developed communication and consultation skills
• board experience
• appreciation of governance practices
• understanding of government
• knowledge and/or experience in the fisheries industry.
