First Nations Engagement Manager

This role drives ACCIONA Energia’s First Nations engagement strategy, fostering partnerships and supporting cultural heritage initiatives across projects.

About the Role

This role will develop, manage, and implement ACIONA Energia’s First Nations engagement plan whilst supporting the broader ACCIONA Energia business in its commitment to actively, genuinely, and consistently engage with the communities in which it operates.

Key Duties

  • Lead the review and implementation of ACCIONA Energia’s Corporate First Nations Plan and project-level Participation Plans.
  • Track, evaluate, and improve engagement strategies.
  • Guide the business on First Nations engagement across the project lifecycle – from Project Development to Construction to Operations & Maintenance.
  • Assist the Project Development team by crafting compelling tender responses related to First Nations engagement and partnerships.
  • Support the development of Cultural Heritage plans, coordinating relevant inputs from internal stakeholders and aligning business priorities.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with First Nations peoples, Traditional Owners, and representative groups.
  • Lead and support the First Nations team effectively whilst contributing to a positive and productive team culture.

Experience

  • This is an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander-identified position.
  • Tertiary qualification in Business or similar degree.
  • Background in renewables, utilities, mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, or other similar sectors, with an understanding of large-scale projects.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategies for First Nations participation and engagement, including Reconciliation Action Plans.
  • Strong ability to engage and influence stakeholders at various levels to enhance understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
  • Well-developed written communication skills in preparing tenders, reports, compliance and commercial material.
  • Flexibility and willingness for ad hoc travel.
