This position is within Metro South Child & Youth Mental Health Service and will provide opportunities for clinical training, collaboration with experienced mental health clinicians from a range of disciplines, and experience in specialised mental health services.

The purpose of this role is to deliver allied health profession specific services within Child and Youth Mental Health Services. This is a graduate role which will be provided with both cultural support and professional development opportunities across a number of areas within Child & Youth Mental Health Service.

This includes:

  • Detailed clinical assessment, patient education, therapeutic intervention and/or management and assistance with discharge planning within an interprofessional context.
  • Clinical education, supervision of observational students and allied health assistants, and assistance with supervision of undergraduate students.
  • Participation and contribution to quality improvement and research activities under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Managing an allocated workload to deliver mental health and discipline specificservices, within Child and Youth Mental Health Services including assessment, intervention and evaluation within an interprofessional team in accordance with established clinical & departmental protocols, policies and procedures, utilising evidence-based practice and ethical standards and under clinical practice supervision or professional guidance of senior staff.
  • Liaising and working effectively in a professional manner with clients and their carers and family, other health professionals from different disciplines, students and external agencies to achieve a client centred approach, utilising negotiation and conflict resolution skills as required.

Salary – $79,051 to $116,189 per annum 

Status: Temporary full time for 2 years
