Your opportunity

As an Electrical Jointer, you’ll build on your highly practiced jointing skills to ensure the safety and reliability of our HV & LV underground electrical cables, equipment, and plant for our communities across Queensland.

Here’s how you’ll do it:

• Carry out maintenance (preventative, planned, unplanned), and repairs to our underground distribution network to ensure its ongoing reliability.
• Construct and augment our underground distribution network to meet the changing needs of our residential and commercial customers and other stakeholders.
•  Install, repair, commission and maintain various items of electrical equipment and plant that make up our vast underground distribution network.

The remuneration for your new role is from $108,859 per annum + 14.75% superannuation + applicable allowances.

Positions are based at Townsville, Rockhampton, Toowoomba, or Brisbane.

What you’ll bring

• A Queensland Electrical Licensing Board Certification as an Electrical Jointer (open or restricted).
• Experience in HV & LV paper lead cable jointing and familiarity with cable pulling.
• Demonstrated knowledge of an electricity distribution/transmission system, including construction and maintenance of an electrical network.
• Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
• Australian or New Zealand citizenship or an Australian permanent residency.

We’d also love you to have:

• Well-developed interpersonal communication skills to develop good working relationships with team members and external customers. You must have the ability to identify and understand customer needs.
• Availability for call out and emergency work.
• Willingness to travel to surrounding area from time to time to undertake work.
