Disability Support Practitioner

We also offer exceptional training to support you:

  • Opportunity to complete a nationally recognised qualification such as Certificate III in Individual Support and/or a Certificate IV in Disability 
  • We invest $5,000 in training in your first year.

 
Duties will include: 

  • Building and supporting cultural connectedness for Aboriginal clients and ensure they enjoy high levels of social and emotional wellbeing 
  • Delivering personalised support in a group home setting by assisting clients at mealtimes, personal care, administrating medication and manual handling 
  • Facilitation of cultural activities in the group home
  • Ensuring clients have access to information to make their own choices and build skills to be more independent 
  • Transporting clients, using CPA minivan, if applicable.

 
Requirements:

  • Knowledge and genuine commitment to helping clients to maintain a distinctive cultural, spiritual and physical relationship with their land and waters 
  • Knowledge, understanding and sensitivity towards the social and cultural needs of Aboriginal people and their families. 
  • Ability to navigate complex and diverse client family dynamics 
  • A current NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 minimum) is preferred 
  • Live locally to the area.
