Customer Service Officer

  • ASIC is seeking multiple contract and casual Customer Service Officers to join their Registry Operations team
  • Casual base hourly rate of $31.57 to $34.99, plus 25% loading and superannuation
  • Temporary roles for a period of 12 months, based in Traralgon, Victoria

The team

The ASIC Registry administers more than 30 legal registers. The two largest, the Companies register and the Business Names register contain the details of over more than 3.2 million companies and 2.7 million business names. These registers are the official source of information about business names, companies and other professionals, registered or licensed to operate in the Australian economy.

 

The role 

  • Deliver a professional enquiry service, answering customer enquiries via multiple channels including phone, email and web chat.
  • Guide customers to appropriate information resources, assisting them to transact online and educating them about ASIC services and our website.
  • Confidently provide quality customer service displaying empathy, ASIC knowledge and the ability to understand and interpret the customer’s enquiry.
  • Accurately record enquiries on the database and forwarding appropriate written information to customers, whilst running multiple applications simultaneously.
  • Assess and process applications and information received from regulated entities to maintain the accuracy and integrity of the corporate, business and professional registers, and engage with regulated entities to obtain relevant information to update registers in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to key performance indicators such as call handling and information processing times.
  • Provide basic IT assistance to customers responding to IT outages, passwords, accounts enquiries.
  • Be an active participant of the Service Delivery team.

 

About you

  • Experience in customer service and working in a team environment.
  • Experience in data entry using a variety of software applications simultaneously e.g. Microsoft Office, Lotus Notes, databases.
  • A relevant high school/secondary certificate or a diploma is desirable.
  • Casual work is ideal for tertiary students or for people who want to balance work, family and personal commitments.

 

As a casual employee you are paid a loading of 25% of hours worked in compensation for you not having entitlements under the National Employment Standards that casual employees are not entitled to receive (including but not limited to annual leave, personal leave, notice of termination, redundancy pay and public holidays).

Implementing Stage One of the Machinery of Government change, Registry Staff who are ASIC employees performing their duties within the ATO IT environment will be onboarded to the ATO IT systems, hardware and secure worksite.

ASIC employees will have a contingent worker profile within the ATO systems, subject to completion of the following steps and actions:|

  • ATO Integrity Check – to ensure prospective ASIC employees using the ATO systems meet.
  • The ATO’s tax, superannuation and registry obligations.
  • ATO Onboarding of ASIC employees into the ATO system environment.
  • This will require ASIC employees to complete the ATO’s onboarding platform to access the ATO’s mandatory compliance training and induction process.
