Position Title: Cultural Engagement Officer

Location: Belgian Gardens

Remuneration: $100,219 – $108,698 p/a – $3,841.40 – $4,166.40 p/f

The Cultural Engagement officer is responsible for identifying relevant key stakeholders across government departments, the private sector and nongovernment organisations and demonstrated experience engaging with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and people.

This role will provide strong interpersonal, research and analytical skills to procure and / or source funding to deliver appropriate programs and services to support the social, emotional and cultural wellbeing of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Clients in Youth Detention.

The Cultural Engagement Officer will have detailed knowledge of current issues, trends and practices that impact Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities and peoples, in particular youth.

The Cultural Engagement Officer is part of a team that includes positions such as Case Advisor, Cultural Liaison Officers, Transition Officer, and Program Facilitators, who work collaboratively with young people, stakeholders, and families, to ensure services provided are culturally safe and promote the well-being of young people in detention.
