Council Liaison Officer

About the Role

The NLC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Council Liaison Officer. Under the direction of our Council Services Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing administration support for our Regional, Executive and Full Council meetings in the NLC regions. This role extends to record keeping, logistics and travel support.

What you will Bring

Your ability to confidently and respectfully communicate with people across the organisation as well as Traditional Owners (TOs), our constituents and members of the general public. You will have excellent time management and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team.  Your strong administrative skills and keen eye for detail will be instrumental for your success in this role.

In addition to this, you will have: –

  • Certificate IV in Business Administration, Event Management or similar qualification, or a related field and/or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a similar role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to work with a range of computer software products, in particular Office 365, Word and Outlook.
  • High level cross-cultural, interpersonal and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively liaise, engage and coordinate across an organisation and to build productive working relationships with work colleagues, constituents and external stakeholders.

    • District allowance starting at $2,630 per annum for individuals and $4,797 per annum for those with dependents.
    • 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave;

    • Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,961
