Communications Coordinator

About the role:

SaCSA is seeking a Communications Coordinator to join our Marketing & Communications Team. Reporting to the Communications Manager, this newly created role will perform key activities which support SaCSA’s overall strategy.

The role is responsible for:

  • Drafting & distributing communications, including online content, EDMs, and internal and external communications consistent with brand messaging.
  • Conducting research to support communication strategies, including analysing trends, competitor activity and target audiences.
  • Media support, including monitoring coverage, drafting pitches and press releases, preparing media kits and tracking campaign results.
  • Coordinating event logistics and providing additional administrative and coordination support as needed.

 

About the Location, Flexibility and Travel:

This is a full-time role based in our Melbourne office near Flinders Station.

This role is being offered on a hybrid basis, with 2-3 days in the office each week depending on the team’s needs. We embrace flexibility and are open to flexible hours.

Some domestic travel to attend events and training may be needed throughout the year on an ad-hoc basis. The entire SaCSA Team also meets twice per year for two days to connect in person and attend training, workshops and celebrate our achievements (location TBA).

About you:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills – you’ll need a strong attention to detail and the ability to draft compelling content in our tone and voice effectively.
  • Experience working in communications, public relations or a related field. A good understanding of media relations, including familiarity with press releases and best practices for media outreach and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with design using Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva.
  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field.
  • While not essential, experience in government, education and training (particularly VET), or any of our key sectors (Arts, Personal Services, Retail, Travel and Hospitality) would be highly regarded.
