About Mamu Health Service Limited

Mamu Health Service Limited began in the mid 1980’s as a medical clinic run from the local community hall by a visiting Wuchopperen Health Service from Cairns. In 1990 a local committee was formed, and Mamu Medical Service was born. A purpose-built clinic at 10 Ernest Street, Innisfail opened in 1998. The service became Mamu Health Service Limited in the 2000’s. In 2023 funding was obtained to build a larger clinic, as Mamu HSL has outgrown the original clinic. Clinics exist at Babinda, Tully (both part time), A Mums N Bubs clinic operates in Innisfail, Ravenshoe has a full-time clinic and services Mt Garnet one day each week. Mamu HSL also operates Community Support Services programs, including, Deadly Choices, Sports & Recreation, Social & Emotional Well being counselling and Family Well Being.

The Opportunity

As our new Chief Executive Officer, you will be tasked with executing MHSL’s Strategic Plan, leading the Company’s operations, and ensuring its long-term sustainability. You will oversee the efficient use of resources, ensuring they align with community control, cultural safety, and holistic healthcare principles.

Utilizing your strong leadership skills and experience, you will motivate staff, stakeholders, and the community, championing our vision, mission, and values. Your passion for delivering top-quality healthcare and health education to our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities will be crucial.

You will lead our Senior Management Team, working closely with them to ensure they effectively manage their respective areas of the organization.

About You

As CEO, you will lead with both passion and purpose, spearheading initiatives to enhance the health and well-being of our communities. You will be accountable for achieving operational and clinical excellence while ensuring organizational viability. Your role will require expertise in executing strategic plans and a strong understanding of corporate governance, including effective collaboration with the Board of Directors.

You should have proven experience in the following areas within a healthcare setting:

• Strategic Management and Service Delivery
• Leadership and Community Engagement
• Governance and Reporting
• Financial Management
• Human Resource Management
• Compliance, Quality, and Risk
