The opportunity
ASIO is seeking skilled and detail-oriented individuals to support our recruitment processes as Recruitment Scribes on a casual basis. Scribes work closely with our recruitment teams and their stakeholders across the Organisation at all levels. The recruitment team are responsible for facilitating recruitment, developing and maintaining the recruitment schedule, developing talent acquisition processes and delivering reporting and metrics to provide strategic recommendations.
A merit pool may be created to fill future vacancies which have the same or similar requirements to this position. This merit pool will be valid for up to 18 months.
Role responsibilities
As a Recruitment Scribe at ASIO, you will:
- Accurately document and transcribe interview discussions.
- Record panel comments and observations.
- Draft and finalise the individual selection report for the panel chair.
- Conduct telephone reference checks for identified candidates.
- Contribute individual assessments to a final recruitment report for delegate approval.

- A strong client service focus with the capacity to adapt to varying client requirements.
- A sound understanding of recruitment processes and interviewing practices is highly desirable but not essential.
- A current or inactive security clearance is highly desirable but not essential.

- An Australian citizen.
- Assessed as suitable to hold and maintain a TOP SECRET-Privileged Access security clearance.

Location
These positions are located in Canberra and applicants must be willing to relocate. Relocation assistance is provided to successful candidates where ASIO requires you to relocate.

Employment conditions
Employment is under the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation Act 1979. Conditions of service are similar to those applying in the Australian Public Service. We recognise entitlements accrued under the Public Service Act 1999 and provide for continuation of superannuation under the Commonwealth schemes. Salary packaging arrangements are also available.
