Caring for Country Council Grants Coordinator

LOGO Management Australia is working with the Western Sydney Regional Organisation of Councils (WSROC) to recruit for an exciting role to manage the Caring for Country Council Grants program by partnering with Councils and Mob in Western Sydney. This grants program is an action in the Caring for Country Strategy which aims to improve health and wellbeing of Country, promotes Aboriginal culture and knowledge, supports Aboriginal communities to maintain distinctive relationships with land and waters in Western Sydney and supports economic participation of Aboriginal and Torres Islander people. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply and WSROC are committed to a safe and respectful recruitment process.

  • 2 year, 4 day week position with potential for extension
  • Salary ranges from $75,000 to $85,000 (4 day week) + 11.5 % super
  • Blacktown Office with flexible hybrid working.

  • Grant administration and financial management experience.
  • Relevant experience/qualification in administration, business management, environmental sciences or a similar field.
  • Understanding of local government processes, services and systems.
  • Understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their connection to Country and cultural responsibilities.
  • Experience working on Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander projects, and/or engagement and relationship building with Aboriginal colleges or Aboriginal communities.
  • High-level oral and written communication skills including the ability to conduct workshops, write reports and respond to questions and applications from the councils.
  • Ability to review grant applications against eligibility criteria and seek additional or missing information.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple proposals and grants, while ensuring compliance with all aspects of program criteria.
