Business Support Officer

About Us: Join our dedicated Financial and Administrative Services team, where we provide essential support to Members of Parliament. Our mission is to ensure the smooth administration of allowances and entitlements, adhering to the accountability provisions set out in the Members’ Remuneration Handbook.

Key Responsibilities:

Advisory and Assistance:

  • Provide expert advice and assistance to Members and Parliamentary Service staff regarding the administrative requirements of the Members’ Remuneration Handbook and the Parliamentary Service Staff Travel Policy.

Travel Coordination:

  • Liaise with Members, Parliamentary Service staff, and travel service providers to coordinate official travel requirements in accordance with the Members’ Remuneration Handbook.

Financial and Administrative Support:

  • Prepare and verify travel invoices/statements prior to payment.
  • Prepare and check travel claims.
  • Answer inquiries and analyse databases.
  • Perform data entry tasks.

You will have previous experience with:

Accounting/Bookkeeping:

  • Experience with accounting/bookkeeping tasks using computerized accounting systems.

Technical Proficiency:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and accounting software.

Client Management:

  • Proven experience in managing client requests and organizing numerous activities within critical timeframes.
