Applications Officer

Reporting to the Manager, Candidate Experience, the Applications Officer is responsible for the processing of applications from overseas qualified dental practitioners. A position requiring a high level of focus, customer service and attention to detail, the applications officer will utilise provided systems to complete database entries, generate and send templated outcomes and handle enquiries relative to the Assessments & Examinations department. This is a 12 month fixed term parental leave cover position.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide high-level customer service to candidates and key stakeholders.
  • Assist with enquiries regarding assessment pathways.
  • Manage email inboxes and respond to enquiries for the Assessments & Examinations department.
  • Professionally manage phone calls from candidates.
  • Process applications for initial assessment, renewal, and skills assessment.
  • Handle incoming additional documents and maintain candidate records and lists.
  • Maintain knowledge of Australian dental programs and assess the relevance of international programs.
  • Generate and send candidate outcome letters.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to liaise with a wide range of individuals including those where English is their second language.
  • Excellent organisational skills, including demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • High level computer skills.
  • Proven ability to relate to, and work collaboratively with staff at all levels.
  • Proven ability to ensure compliance with protocols and rigorous maintenance of records.
  • Proven data entry experience with a high degree of speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to draft correspondence by email and use standard Microsoft Word templates from a client management database system.
