About the opportunity

There is currently one (1) full time permanent position available for immediate filling.

As an Aboriginal Workforce Inclusion Specialist, you will lead the development and implementation of innovative strategies to enhance Aboriginal employment and inclusion within the Department. Your focus will be on attracting, retaining, training, and advancing Aboriginal talent, while also developing, leading, and managing programs to promote understanding of Aboriginal peoples, culture, history and knowledge.

In this role, you will build strong relationships with Aboriginal communities and stakeholders to enhance the Department’s capacity to improve economic and cultural outcomes for Aboriginal peoples. Additionally, you will provide strategic guidance and oversight to the Aboriginal Outcomes Task Team, ensuring alignment with the Aboriginal Workforce Strategy and the Reconciliation Action Plan.

We are looking for individuals with:   

  • Demonstrated knowledge and deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and society.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal peoples in Western Australia.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of issues impacting on the employment, retention and development of Aboriginal employees.
