Your new role

We can’t do this without you. Your new role as Aboriginal Cultural and Reconciliation Advisor will provide cultural leadership, guidance, and support for our reconciliation efforts and build cultural capability across Uniting Vic Tas, Uniting AgeWell, and U Ethical. It’s a full-time maximum term role for 2 years.

Your efforts across all three organisations will be crucial in fostering socially just and culturally safe relationships and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within our service delivery and workplaces.

Additionally, you will lead the development, implementation, and reporting of our Reconciliation Action Plans under Reconciliation Australia’s framework and be hands-on in activating resources and support that help us be the workplaces of choice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

About you

Identifying as an Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander person, you will bring to the role:

  • Strong cultural competency, knowledge, and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and peoples.
  • Experience providing strategic cultural advice and building cultural competency in systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience working effectively with people from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander backgrounds.
  • A knowledge and understanding of contemporary reconciliation practices.
  • A track record in leading, monitoring, and reporting on Reconciliation Action Plans.
  • The ability to inform and influence others and form strong working partnerships.
