Intensive Rehabilitation
Location – Community Corrections (Extended Supervision Order) Blacktown
Employment type – Ongoing 35 hours per week (Flexible working hours)
Salary – $93,295 – $102, 941pa, plus super and leave loading (Clerk Grade 5/6)
This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only.
Your role
As an Aboriginal Community Engagement & Culture Officer, you will provide advice and support to Community Corrections in the case management of identified offender groups in a culturally sensitive manner and ensure appropriate case plans and supervision is implemented consistent with CSNSW mission of reduction of re-offending. You will also identify and build collaborative community networks and partnerships to improve the effectiveness of community offender programs for identified offender groups.
What you’ll do and who you will work with
You will predominately work within a team responsible for supervising individuals placed on a post sentence order (PSO), referred to as an Extended Supervision Order.
The basic test for the making of a PSO is that the Court is satisfied to a high degree of probability that the offender presents an unacceptable risk of committing a serious sexual or violent offence if not kept under supervision in the community.
The ESO Team manage workloads in both custodial and community and are co-located with the NSWPF State Crime Command Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad ESO Investigations Team (ESOIT)
As part of the Extended Supervision Order team, you will provide advice and guidance to Community Corrections staff on the scope of culturally appropriate interventions for identified offenders and prepare recommendations on strategies to support the supervision of Aboriginal people subject to these Orders. You will liaise with community agencies, to promote the aims of Community Corrections while ensuring culture is at the centre of our work.
You will be part of the Intensive Rehabilitation District and may also be required to work with teams supporting Aboriginal people across other programs including our Risk Management Programs (RMP), Behavioural Intervention Support Service and THROU.

- is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
