From our venues in Wollongong, in the heart of Dharawal Country, we seed, develop, produce, present, and tour performances and programs that reflect our communities.

With a proud commitment over many years to First Nations First, Merrigong Theatre Company has successfully presented contemporary self-determined productions, developed new audiences, and created pathways for local aspiring producers, directors, actors, playwrights, dancers and choreographers. We now seeking a First Nations Producer to further develop our First Nations Program.

About the role

The position of First Nations Producer is part-time (22.5 hours per week) and sits within Merrigong’s Artistic Development Team.  The salary range is $66k – $75k pro-rata.

The central focus for the role is to support local First Nations artists in the development of their artistic practice, and in the creation and presentation of new locally made performing arts works.  The Producer will be supported by our First Nations Engagement Coordinator and our First Nations Advisory Group.

Merrigong Theatre Company is committed to providing growth opportunities for the First Nations Producer and will provide a supported environment and a structured plan to develop skills, knowledge, and industry experience as required.
