Paralegal Officers

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced administration professionals or paralegals to join our team. The Paralegal Officer role provides critical administration support to our Prosecutions Unit.

Key tasks include:

  • Creating and filing court attendance notices
  • Investigating and compiling court attendance notice submissions for Prosecutors, along with compiling submissions for court elected infringement notices
  • Reviewing infringement representations and obtaining prosecutorial requests such as traffic records and registration certificates
  • Reviewing legal documents and preparing research
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders – Prosecutions, Camera Compliance and Intelligence units
  • Liaising with participating jurisdiction revenue agencies, police and state government
  • General administrative duties including monitoring the central inbox, drafting documents and reporting
  • Maintaining confidentiality and displaying utmost professional integrity when dealing with sensitive matters

About You

  • Demonstrated high level administration experience. Paralegal experience or experience in a legal environment is beneficial, however not essential
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with a high turnaround of workload, while maintaining high level attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft and the ability and willingness to learn multiple new systems
  • Strong verbal communication and written skills, coupled with a high standard of customer service
  • Understanding of legislation or ability to learn
  • Researching skills will assist you
