Union Organiser

The National Tertiary Education Union (Victorian Division) covers staff employed in universities, associated companies, research institutes, TAFE, student unions and adult and community education. The Union’s membership includes Academic, General, Research and Professional staff.

NTEU is seeking a highly motivated, member focused individual with experience in organising, recruitment and campaigning, either in a trade union or in social justice organisations. You will be committed to building the trade union movement.

About the role

You will initially be based at the Deakin University Branch Office in Burwood. You will be assigned a mix of duties, including taking responsibility for the completion of organising, campaign, and administrative tasks or projects at the Branch level and state-wide. You may be allocated to other NTEU branches in Victoria from time to time.

What’s on offer

This position is available from Monday 14 October 2024. It will be filled at NTEU Level 5 or 6 ($96,394 – $119,304), depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation contributions. Terms and conditions for this position are covered by a national collective agreement which has terms comparable with NTEU members in the industry.
