Senior Lawyer

  • Salary $147,074 to $162,634 plus 15.4% superannuation

The team

The Registry Interactions & Services (RIS) team sits within ASIC’s Legal Services group.

RIS performs a range of service functions for ASIC’s registry operations and projects and plays a key role for the Registry Connect Program to stabilise and uplift the ASIC registry services.

The role

In this role you will be giving legal advice on matters arising under the legislation administered by ASIC and advising on law and policy design for the Registry Connect Program and other initiatives that impact registry services.

This will include providing advice on a wide range of matters relating to registry operations including third party agreements, court matters, administered revenue, delegations, policies, procedures, communications, information and privacy.

About you

We are looking for someone with legal qualifications including a current practising certificate and considerable post-admission experience.

You’ll have deep knowledge and experience in interpreting, advising and applying legislation and managing associated risks.

A sound understanding of the law and government policies that apply to the operations of Commonwealth government agencies (eg. PGPA Act, Archives Act, Privacy Act, Protective Security Policy Framework) is also required.

You’ll have experience presenting complex information to different audiences through strong business writing skills and verbal communication, along with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Your experience in large-scale projects or legislative implementation will support your success in this role.
