The organisation

When people talk about the Flying Doctor, thoughts generally turn to red-bellied planes undertaking rescue missions in the Outback. However, the current Victorian story is one that reflects today’s challenges for people living in remote and rural communities across the state. While we do still transport people by air and by road, this work is complemented by a range of primary health services that address the most common issues people living in country Victoria face when accessing health care.

The People & Culture Team

RFDS Victoria’s People and Culture (P&C) Team is about putting people first and supporting the organisation and our team to grow, succeed and contribute positively to better health and wellbeing outcomes in the community. Your role

Reporting to the Senior P&C Business Partner, the P&C Advisor plays a pivotal role in managing end-to end recruitment, providing generalist HR advice to people leaders, and supporting the Senior P&C Business Partner to implement HR processes and initiatives that drive business performance.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Recruitment and onboarding
  • HR Advisory
  • P&C initiatives and process improvement
  • Administration and employee life cycle management
  • Internal and external stakeholder management

Knowledge, skills and experience require:

  • Minimum 3-5 years as a generalist HR coordinator/advisor
  • Knowledge of core HR principles and Australian employment law
  • Experience working with Industry Awards and Enterprise Agreements
  • Strong stakeholder management internally and externally
  • Tech savvy with systems improvement and process implementation

Mandatory requirements:

In line with RFDS Victoria’s mandatory policies, all employees are required to undergo a National Police Clearance, hold a Working with Children Check and have 3 * Covid vaccinations and annual influenza vaccination.
