Human Resources Adviser

Creative Australia

Creative Australia is the Australian Government’s principal arts investment and advisory body. With artists at the heart of what we do, we invest in creative talent and stimulate the market for Australian stories to be told on a national and international scale, sharing our rich culture with the world. We do this because art and creativity define us, recording what we have been and what we might yet become. As a nation, creativity connects us and benefits us all.

Workplace culture

We are proud to have been named an Inclusive Employer for the third consecutive time by Diversity Council Australia. This achievement reflects our commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. Our people are passionate and dedicated to the delivery of our five-year strategy Creativity Connects Us. We strive to establish and sustain a diverse and inclusive workforce, fostering a culturally safe and supportive environment where everyone can bring their authentic self to work.

Team culture

You’ll be a part of a vibrant and supportive team that values collaboration and making a real difference. Everyday will be a new opportunity to help employees, improve processes and be a key part of shaping our workplace culture.

Your role

Are you ready for a role that’s as much about connecting with people as it is about keeping things in compliance? We’re looking for a Human Resources Adviser who can be the heartbeat of our generalist HR services. From ensuring employees are paid on time to giving new hires the royal welcome, you’ll be at the centre of everything that makes our workplace thrive.

What you’ll be doing

  • Being the friendly face that employees turn to when they have questions about HR processes, HR systems or just need a bit of guidance
  • Rolling out the red carpet for new hires – from preparing offers of employment to overseeing the onboarding and induction process, you’ll make sure their experience is nothing short of amazing!
  • Leading the charge on our fortnightly payroll – ensuring everything’s accurate, on time with no questions asked come pay day
  • Getting involved in reviewing and updating our HR policies and procedures, keeping them fresh and relevant
  • Keeping HR information organised, up to date and accessible on our SharePoint site, so everyone’s in the know

What’s in it for you

  • Permanent opportunity
  • Location: Sydney
  • Salary of $83,408 per annum + 15.4% superannuation
  • Flexible working hours
  • Hybrid work arrangement (two days’ work from home and three days in our office)
  • Paid leave between Christmas and New Year
  • Cultural leave entitlements
  • Wellbeing programs and corporate discounts
  • Holistic employee assistance program for employees, their families, and kin

Here’s the best part: you don’t need to have a HR background to join us. Whether you’re someone in finance eager to break into HR or someone who is just great with people, numbers and systems, this is your chance to grow, learn and have a real impact.
