Team Leader – Aboriginal Health Liaison

Western Health is looking to employ an Aboriginal Health Liaison Team Leader to work within the Wilim Berrbang Team.

 

The Team Leader is a key role to provide leadership and line management responsibility to the Hospital based Aboriginal Health Liaison Officers (AHLO) and Koori Maternity Service. They will manage the AHLO team roster, on call roster, take part in on call and assist with special event planning.

 

In addition, they will support the Manager of Aboriginal Health, Policy and Planning:

  • Strategic planning
  • Planning and delivery of Western Health Cultural Safety Plan (the Plan) activities
  • Assist planning and take part in cultural safety training activities

 

The role is an exciting opportunity to assist Western Health with Strategic Planning and delivery of strategies to assist connect the First Nations communities of the West to vital supportive health care by identifying opportunities to embed cultural safety in research, capital projects and patient care.

The Team Leader will report to the Manager of Aboriginal Health, Policy and Planning. The Team Leader will support the day-to-day operations of the Aboriginal Health Team, including direct line management of Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officers and Koori Maternity Service.

The Team Leader role is an First Nations identified role.
