Personnel Security Analyst

  • ASIC is seeking a full time Personnel Security Analyst to join their Chief Risk Office Team
  • Temporary (12 months with possibility of extension) position based in Sydney
  • Salary starting from $75,838 (plus 15.4% superannuation) depending on experience
  • Hybrid working – enjoy 2-3 days working from home

The team

The Chief Risk Office (CRO) manages ASIC’s risk management framework and stress testing the effectiveness of risk management systems and controls. It also includes ASIC’s protective security, including the protection of information, people and physical assets.

The ASIC Protective Security specialises in ensuring that all personnel working for ASIC are suitable to have access to sensitive and classified information. The Protective Security Team also conduct security investigations and supports ASIC wholistic security framework.

The role

As a Personnel Security Analyst, you will be required to:

  • Undertake information collection activities including searches on internal and external database.
  • Conduct criminal history and identification verification checks in accordance with inter-agency agreements.
  • Conduct security assessments of prospective employees including financial, criminal and character checks in accordance with ASIC and Government security policies.
  • Collect, evaluate and analyse information from a variety of sources, including database searches and conducting phone interviews.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining a professional security culture within the organisation and compliance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework.

About you

  • Relevant qualification or experience in security, public safety, risk management or emergency services desirable but not essential, experience in HR, and customer service is also highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework and Australian Government Security Vetting Agency.
  • Experience undertaking searches on databases and managing the capture and storage of information.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage time and work independently to strict timeframes while meeting the mandatory standards.
  • Strong attention to detail.
